I Must Carry On
I'm not a betting man,
So don't take me at my word.
As I execute my plan,
To be heard.
I'm not certain when I strayed,
As I travelled down the road.
But for the path I laid,
I beared the load.
I made it to the brink,
Of both bar and pub alike.
I have yet to meet a drink,
I didn't like.
I'm not one to peek or pry,
And I've never stayed too long,
I'll know the moment I,
Must carry on.
I never settled down,
I never found someone to share.
In and out of every town,
Without a care.
All my lovers have a sheen,
Every one I love the same.
With their dose of dopamine,
I'm right as rain.
I made it to the brink,
Of both bar and pub alike.
I have yet to meet a drink,
I didn't like.
I'm not one to peek or pry,
And I've never stayed too long,
I'll know the moment I,
Must carry on.
