Ain't No Storm

When a late spring rainstorm barreled through,
I crossed the state line to rescue you.
You called me with a whimper, a voice of dread,
Telling me you loved me when the line went dead.

When it comes to you there ain't no storm,
Ain't no earthquake that could form.
No flood, no snow, no call my bluff.
Ain't nothin' in this world that's big enough,
Because my love for you can ride the rough.

When I arrived, and you were not there,
I thought that I looked almost everywhere.
I peeked in the windows but it all looked marooned.
Until I saw the light coming from a rundown saloon.

Inside I found you drinkin' with the phone on the bar.
And you didn't seem to hear me pull up in the car.
You were slinging back a shot and pouring one more.
When you finally saw me and ran to the door.

When it comes to you there ain't no storm,
Ain't no earthquake that could form.
No flood, no snow, no call my bluff.
Ain't nothin' in this world that's big enough,
Because my love for you can ride the rough.

When it comes to you there ain't no storm,
Ain't no earthquake that could form.
No flood, no snow, no call my bluff.
Ain't nothin' in this world that's big enough,
Because my love for you can ride the rough.
