Love in the Days of Teenage-Hood

We wasted time, and shared a smoke,
You laughed at all my edgy jokes.
You held my hand, my stomach spun,
A moment caught beneath the sun.

In our world it was just us two,
As we listened to our Mötley Crüe.
I loved to watch you sway and sing,
Waiting for the bell to ring.

Love in the days of teenage-hood
Feelings are so misunderstood.
A tender kiss or callous laughter.
You can't always plan on ever after.

Love in the days of teenage-hood
Feelings are so misunderstood.
A tender kiss or callous laughter.
You can't always plan on ever after.

After break came to an end,
I found myself without my friend.
You had transferred out of school,
And left me smiling like a fool.

I should have listened when you said,
That life's a trip and then you're dead,
And then we'll fade into the ether,
Time is true love's cruelest teacher.
