Love is Just a Waiting
Game
I knew a boy, some time ago,
A boy unmarred by loss or woe.
He dared to dream in colors bright,
And lived a life eclipsed in light.
He closed out each day with a smile,
Devoted to find peace awhile.
He chose the good of every day,
And this is what he'd always say:
I would much rather wait,
No sense in greed or temping fate.
Life's a trip, no room for shame,
And love is just a waiting game.
There is no sense to care,
For all the bad that might appear.
A waste of time, misunderstood,
When I'd rather focus on the good.
He thought he saw her long ago,
Standing in a lane of snow.
Her wind-swept tresses pulled back,
Beneath a scarf and winter cap.
Still he waited with no regret,
This boy could never get upset.
If it's meant to be, then it shall be,
You just have to trust in me.
There is no sense to care,
For all the bad that might appear.
A waste of time, misunderstood,
When I'd rather focus on the good.
I would much rather wait,
No sense in greed or temping fate.
Life's a trip, no room for shame,
And love is just a waiting game.
